A third person died due to measles in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed on its website on Tuesday.

There were 4,410 confirmed cases of measles across the country as of October 15, according to the agency. It had reported two deaths related to the once-eradicated disease in September.

The agency, however, did not specify in which states the deaths occurred.

The US Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the CDC, did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment for details on the additional death.
