Kanpur: Chief executive officer of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) Vijay Kiran Anand inspected various industrial areas in Ghaziabad district on Saturday. He also met entrepreneurs and representatives of industrial associations to discuss ongoing development works, infrastructure facilities and the concerns and suggestions of industrial stakeholders.During the visit, the CEO inspected seven industrial areas: Kavi Nagar industrial area, Swadeshi industrial area, Bulandshahr Road industrial area, South Side G.T. Road, Loha Mandi, Meerut Road Site-3 and Sahibabad.To ensure the quality of development works, instructions were issued for a more rigorous assessment of projects through M/s RITES Limited (a Government of India enterprise). Important directions related to developmental and administrative matters were also issued during the meetings.These included strengthening third-party inspection mechanisms to ensure the quality of ongoing development works in industrial areas; conducting sample collection and quality testing of construction works in the presence of representatives of entrepreneur associations; ensuring timely completion of pending and proposed development projects on a priority basis; utilising vacant land and assets available in industrial areas for the development of public utility facilities such as Skill Development Centres, Expo Centres, Convention Facilities, and Testing Laboratories.Directives were given for preparing a phased development plan for parks in all industrial areas; developing organised parking facilities for trucks and other vehicles at identified locations; launching special enforcement drives to remove illegally parked vehicles from main roads and carriageways and strengthening coordination with the traffic police and transport department; expediting the cleaning of drains in industrial areas and ensuring regular monitoring of the work. Directions were issues regarding officials concerned to ensure prompt and time-bound resolution of entrepreneurs’ grievances and suggestions; providing direct communication channels and email access to entrepreneurs for resolving their issues; and conducting surprise inspections of regional offices and construction division offices to ensure necessary improvements in administrative arrangements.While interacting directly with entrepreneurs, the CEO stated: “UPSIDA follows a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. If any officer or employee at any level makes an inappropriate demand or causes unnecessary harassment to entrepreneurs, such matters should be reported immediately. Strict and effective action will be taken against those found guilty.”
