Neither Sporting Club Delhi nor Inter Kashi has enjoyed a riveting run in the Indian Super League this season. Both teams will hope to derive some solace when they face each other at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Sunday.
While Inter Kashi is languishing at 10th with 12 points from 11 matches, the host is 11th with 10 points.
For SC Delhi, Matija Babovic, who has netted five goals and contributed an assist, is vital in front of goal. He will be supported by centre-forward Joseph Sunny and winger Mohammed Aimen.
SC Delhi head coach Tomasz Tchorz wants his players to be at their best on Sunday. The club suffered its first home defeat of the season when it lost to Odisha on May 8.
“Inter Kashi has shown throughout this season that it is a very competitive team. It has some problems as we all know, but I think this might also serve as motivation for the players because they want to play for their future,” Tchorz stated.
Inter Kashi goes into this fixture on the back of a commendable goalless draw against third-placed Mohun Bagan Super Giant. In his pre-match press conference, coach Abhijit Mondal emphasised the need for his team to maintain that same character in the national capital.
