Lucknow: A 26-year-old UPSC aspirant allegedly died by suicide by jumping into the Gomti River from Pakka Pul in Lucknow’s Chowk area on Monday morning, police said.According to the police, information was received at around 10.15 am at Chowk police station.“Soon after receiving the alert, police along with teams of the State Disaster Response Force and local divers fished out the body. The deceased was a resident of Alambagh area,” said Chowk SHO Nagesh Upadhyay.The youth’s mother, who is posted as vice-principal at a college in Hussainabad, told police that her son appeared in UPSC civil services examination on May 24 and was under severe mental stress after the exam reportedly did not go as expected.According to SHO, the youth left his two-wheeler near the Trauma Centre mortuary area before allegedly heading towards Pakka Pul.
