Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has declared the final result of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS) 2024 late Sunday, bringing relief to thousands of candidates who waited for more than two years for the process to conclude.The commission had advertised 947 posts across 24 different categories. However, selections have been made for 932 posts due to the non-availability of suitable candidates. According to commission secretary Ashok Kumar, details of marks, along with category-wise and post-wise cut-off marks, will be uploaded on the official website.Among the selected candidates, 272 belong to the OBC category, 186 to the SC, and 22 to the ST. The recommendations of the selected candidates will be sent to the state govt for appointment procedures.The PCS 2023 final result was announced on Jan 23, 2024. Due to repeated delays in conducting the PCS 2024 examination, the entire schedule went off track, and it took over two years to announce the final result. The final result has come nearly one-and-a-half years after the preliminary examination. The commission had to postpone the preliminary test several times due to protests by aspirants. Eventually, the preliminary examination was conducted on Dec 22, 2024. The result was declared on Feb 28, 2025. The main examination was held from Jun 29 to Jul 2, 2025. The result of the mains was declared seven months later on Feb 4. Interviews were conducted between Feb 16 and March 20. Following the orders of the HC, interviews of two candidates were conducted separately on Mar 23 before the final result was prepared and declared.
