Varanasi: Traditional delicacies from Uttar Pradesh emerged as a major attraction at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026, with domestic and international buyers, exporters and visitors praising the authentic flavours of Varanasi, Jaunpur and Chandauli.The 4th edition of the UP International Trade Show 2026 was held at India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida from Sept 25 to 29.Banaras’ famous Launglata and Tiranga Barfi received overwhelming response at the event. More than 100 kg of Launglata was sold, while Banarasi paan drew large crowds at a live counter. Visitors, including foreign business delegates, were seen enjoying the iconic paan. Jaunpur’s Imarti and Chandauli’s black rice also attracted significant attention.Launglata trader Chandrabali Yadav said the response to the sweet was excellent, with nearly one quintal sold at the show. Tiranga Barfi trader Rajeev Singh said he had not expected such high sales at the event.Jaunpur’s Imarti also proved popular. Trader Ashish Gupta said around 100 kg had been sold, adding that demand was so high that the stock fell short. He praised the arrangements at the trade show and said the platform provided by the Yogi government was helping entrepreneurs take their products to larger markets.Chandauli’s black rice and the nutritious kheer made from it also won appreciation from visitors. Trader Ramashray Kumar Pal said the rice is grown through cow-based natural farming methods, making it healthy and nutritious. Around 75 kg of black rice was sold, with more orders expected.Deputy Commissioner, Industries, Abhishek Priyadarshi said traditional dishes from various districts were showcased for the first time under the “One District, One Cuisine” initiative. Entrepreneurs were provided free counters under the scheme.Alongside traditional foods, handmade textiles from Kashi also attracted buyers at the trade show. Silk products woven on Banaras looms received a positive response from international buyers. Abhishek Keshari, a young exporter from Varanasi, presented his products, production capacity, quality standards and export potential during B2B meetings.MoUs were signed for proposed orders from Japan, Vietnam and Nepal for silk brocade scarves, customised dresses and home furnishing products.Keshari said the trade show provided international-level facilities, including stall allotment, electricity, pre-scheduled B2B meetings and a buyer-seller lounge. He said UPITS 2026 helped connect local products with the global supply chain and created networking opportunities through the Export Promotion Council.
