UP govt has announced a major recruitment drive for teachers

Lucknow: UP govt has announced a major recruitment drive for teachers, with 15,012 posts across the basic and secondary education departments. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has issued two separate advertisements for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Teachers and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs).

The recruitment drive includes 897 assistant teacher posts attached to primary sections, 11,508 assistant teacher posts in urban areas and 2,607 lecturer (PGT) posts.

UPESSC chairman Prashant Kumar said the commission has issued advertisements for 897 vacant posts of assistant teacher (attached primary) in non-govt aided secondary schools under the secondary education department and 11,508 posts of assistant teacher (Urban) under the basic education department. In addition, the commission has advertised 2,607 vacant Lecturer (PGT) posts in non-govt aided secondary schools under the secondary education department.

The advertisement for these posts was issued on Sept 15 while the online registration and application process will begin on Sept 16. Candidates can pay the application fee until Oct 15, while the last date for making corrections in the online application is Oct 19. The written examination for these posts is proposed to be conducted on Dec 3 and 4.

The commission has also advertised 2,607 Lecturer (PGT) posts in non-govt aided secondary schools under the Secondary Education Department. The online registration and application process for these posts will begin on Sept 18. Candidates will be able to deposit the application fee until Oct 17, while the last date for making corrections in the online application is Oct 21. The written examination for the PGT recruitment is proposed to be held on Dec 15 and 16.

Thus, the two advertisements together cover 15,012 teaching vacancies. For the convenience of applicants, the commission has implemented a One-Time Registration (OTR) system. Candidates will be required to complete the OTR process before applying for the advertised posts. The commission has advised candidates not to wait until the last date and to complete the registration and application process well in advance to avoid any last-minute technical or other difficulties.

UPESSC chairman Prashant Kumar has advised candidates to carefully read the detailed advertisement and instruction booklet available on the commission’s official website before submitting their applications. Candidates have been asked to independently verify their qualifications and eligibility for the respective posts before applying. The commission has clarified that no separate consultation will be provided regarding the eligibility or qualifications prescribed for the advertised posts.
