UP govt officials at the meeting

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh positioned itself as an emerging destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) at the MachineCon GCC Summit 2026 in Goa on Saturday.Addressing the summit, additional chief secretary, infrastructure and industrial development, Alok Kumar outlined the state’s GCC Policy 2024, which offers incentives such as capital subsidies, operational support, payroll assistance and stamp duty exemptions.He said Uttar Pradesh offers a combination of talent, affordability, connectivity and scalability for global enterprises looking to expand in India.Officials highlighted Noida’s emergence as a hub for knowledge-based industries, while Lucknow and Kanpur are gaining traction as technology and services centres.During a session on talent and innovation, principal secretary, IT and electronics, Alok Kumar said the state produces over two lakh STEM graduates annually through institutions such as IIT Kanpur, IIT-BHU, IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Prayagraj, NIT Prayagraj and IIM Lucknow.He also highlighted the state’s Rs 225-crore AI Mission and plans for deep-tech hubs focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and quantum technologies.Officials further showcased Uttar Pradesh’s expanding expressway network, metro projects, the upcoming Noida International Airport and the Nivesh Mitra single-window clearance system as key factors boosting investor confidence and supporting technology-led growth.
