New Delhi: Sectoral sessions organised on the sidelines of the UP-Japan Investment Meet-2026 in New Delhi focused on innovation, technology, green energy, mobility, talent, finance and manufacturing, highlighting opportunities for Japanese collaboration with UP.The Innovation, Industry and Investment Dialogue brought together representatives from Yamanashi-based organisations, Yamanashi Chuo Bank, Quess Corp, ICICI Bank and OKI to discuss startups, technology, credit, talent and industry partnerships. IT and Electronics minister Sunil Kumar Sharma delivered the concluding remarks.At a session on Accelerating Green Transformation — Mobility, Energy and Strategic Materials, urban development and energy minister AK Sharma said UP had emerged as the country’s number one state in solar installations and was advancing green hydrogen-based energy technology in collaboration with Japan.Invest India’s Anup Bhargava spoke about helping companies adopt green technologies, while Lohum Group’s Rajat Verma stressed greater research and development to make clean-energy technologies cheaper and more durable.UP’s parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Khanna said Japan was emerging not merely as an investor but as a long-term strategic partner in UP’s development.Industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said Japan’s growing engagement reflected confidence in UP’s industrial ecosystem and investment policies and could expand manufacturing and employment opportunities.Minister of state for industrial development Jaswant Singh Saini said the state was working to translate India-Japan ties into concrete investment, technology partnerships and employment for UP’s youth.Khanna and Saini also met Yamanashi Governor Kotaro Nagasaki and discussed investment, employment, technology and industrial cooperation.
