The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has initiated the process for the 2026 High School Improvement and Compartment examinations as well as the Intermediate Compartment examination. According to a notification issued by UP Board secretary Bhagwati Singh on Thursday, eligible candidates can submit their online applications from June 6 to 27 (midnight) through the board’s official website.

As per the notification, High School students who failed in one subject will be eligible to appear in the compartment examination for that subject. Students seeking improvement in their results will be allowed to reappear in one of the two subjects in which they were unsuccessful. The examination fee for the High School Improvement and Compartment examinations has been fixed at 256.50.

For the Intermediate Compartment examination, students from the Humanities, Science, Commerce, and Agriculture streams who have failed in a single paper will be eligible to apply. Similar provisions have also been made for vocational stream students who have failed in one trade subject or question paper. The examination fee for the Intermediate Compartment examination has been set at 306.

The board has clarified that the prescribed fee must be deposited through a treasury challan. After completing the online application process, candidates will be required to upload a copy of the challan. In addition, a hard copy of the application form along with the challan must be sent to the concerned regional office by registered post within the stipulated deadline.

The detailed schedule for practical and project-based examinations, as well as the dates of the compartment and improvement examinations, will be announced separately by the board.
