Ranchi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a multi-tracking railway project for the state connecting Rajkharsawan in Seraikela-Kharsawan district and Dangoaposi in West Singhbhum.The Cabinet also approved a similar project for Odisha. The total cost of both projects was capped at Rs 3,907 crore, a statement for the railway ministry said.“The two projects covering four districts across Odisha and Jharkhand will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 145 km. The proposed multi-tracking project will enhance connectivity to around 1,526 villages, benefitting around 14 lakh people,” the statement added.The proposed capacity enhancement will improve rail connectivity to several prominent tourist destinations across the country, including Lalitgiri Buddhist Complex, Shri Baladevjew Temple and Meghahatuburu Hills, among others.
