Patna: The body of an unidentified young man was recovered on Saturday near a lodge in Mahavir Colony under the Bahadurpur police station area of Patna. The deceased was found covered in blood with police suspecting he was killed by blows from a sharp weapon. A large quantity of bloodstains was found trailing from a room inside the lodge to the spot where the body was discovered, indicating the victim was likely attacked inside and then dragged or moved outside.Patna City sub-divisional police officer I Raj Kishore Singh said inquiries with people in the vicinity revealed the deceased youth had arrived at the lodge with another young man. “It is suspected the second youth, who accompanied the victim, is responsible for the murder and is currently absconding. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest him,” he said.Bahadurpur police station incharge Shubham Kumar said the body was found in a pool of blood and bore injuries consistent with being attacked with a sharp weapon.Officials said full details of the case, including the exact cause of death and the motive behind the murder, will become clear only after the post-mortem report is received and the suspect is arrested.
