Noida: The online services of Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (PVVNL), including bill payment, smart meter recharges, bill generation and other facilities will remain unavailable from 5pm on Friday to 9am on Saturday due to maintenance and configuration works on the Revenue Management System (RMS).The RMS is an automated digital billing and consumer management system designed to streamline electricity billing, payments, and consumer services. The discom, which caters to Noida and Ghaziabad, including western UP, initiated the shutdown on Good Friday and the weekend holiday to avoid inconvenience to consumers.“During this period, vital services including bill payment, smart meter recharges, bill generation, and other online functionalities such as the online consumer portal and the UPPCL consumer app will be disrupted,” said the PVVNL Meerut headquarters’ spokesperson. For any assistance during this period, the discom has urged customers to contact the dedicated helpline number at 1912.In a related initiative, a committee will be set up in Noida, which will mandate a three-phase inspection process for all power equipment and materials to be used in power projects across Greater Noida and the Yamuna Authority area. This is being done to ensure the quality and durability of power equipment to be used for future projects.“Under this, a thorough examination of power equipment will be undertaken at critical stages: prior to leaving the manufacturing facility, at the contractor’s storage, and finally, on-site, where installations will take place. This rigorous oversight aims to ensure high standards of quality across all projects,” said an official from the Yamuna Authority. In addition to the planned inspections, random checks of completed electrical works will also be executed to identify any negligence or irregularities. Key components such as power substations, transformers, streetlights, and underground cabling will be included in this initiative. A special committee has been established to oversee the implementation of this inspection protocol, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining electricity infrastructure integrity
