NEW DELHI: An under-construction building collapsed in north Delhi’s Alipur area on Sunday.According to police, a call regarding the collapse was received at Alipur police station around 11 am. It was initially reported that five to six persons were trapped under the debris.A police team, along with four ambulances, a fire tender and a disaster management vehicle, was immediately dispatched to the spot.During the preliminary inquiry, police found that lintel work was underway at the building when its supporting shuttering, locally known as ‘balli’, apparently gave way, leading to the collapse of the structure.Police said all the workers were accounted for and safe, and no person was reported dead or trapped under the debris.Further verification is underway, police added.(With Agency Inputs)
