Times News NetworkKanpur: A woman took her own life in the Khadakpur Society located within Sen Paschimpara police station area of the city on Saturday morning.The family members said that Sudha‘s (50) husband had been languishing in jail for the past year due to a case involving fraudulent registration of a property. The prolonged absence of her husband had plunged Sudha into a state of deep depression.Chandra Kishore Sonkar, a resident of Khadakpur Society, worked as an electrical mechanic and had ventured into property dealing a few years ago. The family consists of daughters Parul, Ambika, Tanu, and son Sudhanshu.The family members claimed that on July 2 of the previous year, Chandra Kishore, acting on the instructions of his partner Sharad, executed a fraudulent property registration in his name. Upon discovering this, the legitimate owner of the plot filed a complaint at the Sen Paschimpara police station. Consequently, both Chandra Kishore and Sharad Yadav were arrested and subsequently imprisoned. Since that time, Chandra Kishore has remained in custody.According to his daughter Ambika, for the past year, their mother Sudha had been tirelessly visiting the court in an effort to secure her father’s bail, but each attempt ended in failure. Just last Saturday, she had returned from a visit with her father in jail. On Friday night, she took her own life by hanging herself in her room.Pradeep Singh, in-charge Sen Paschimpara police station stated that the woman was suffering from depression due to her husband’s inability to obtain bail, which ultimately led to her tragic decision. The police have conducted an investigation and have sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
