Vadodara: Two youths drowned in the Mahi river near Kotna village on the outskirts of Vadodara on Tuesday morning after being swept away by strong currents while bathing with friends.The deceased were identified as Jay Joglekar (23) and Krishna Rajput (22). According to police, the duo had gone to Kotna, a popular spot near Sindhrot, along with a group of friends. They entered the river to bathe but ventured into deeper waters despite not knowing how to swim.Police said both were caught in a strong current and dragged away, while their friends managed to return to the riverbank. Locals alerted authorities, following which fire brigade teams reached the spot and launched a search operation.After an extensive boat search, the bodies were recovered from the river.
