Vadodara: Two wagons of a goods train derailed in the railway yard near Anand station on Monday afternoon, but train services on the busy Ahmedabad–Mumbai main line remained unaffected as the incident occurred on the loop line within the yard.According to Western Railway, the wheels of two wagons of a goods train going from Ahmedabad to Surat derailed on the loop line in Anand yard around 12.45pm, near the Bhalej overbridge.Senior railway officials, technical teams and an accident relief train rushed to the site and launched restoration work. Cranes were deployed to remove the derailed wagons and restore the track.“As the incident occurred in the yard on the loop line, there has been no impact on train operations on the up and down main lines of the Ahmedabad–Mumbai route. Restoration work is progressing and will be completed shortly,” said Anubhav Saxena, PRO, Western Railway.No casualties were reported in the incident, and passenger train services continued as scheduled.Railway authorities began an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the derailment.
