Coimbatore/Erode: Two minor boys involved in underage driving, died in separate road accidents in Coimbatore and Erode.In the first incident, A Varun Dharman, 17, of Gandhipuram, died at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night without responding to treatment. He had met with an accident near Gandhipuram bus stand in the city on February 7. He was riding a scooter with two of his friends as pillion riders. He sustained severe injuries to his face and head, while the other two survived with minor injuries. The traffic investigation wing (East) police have registered a case.In another incident in Erode, the deceased, was identified as J Gowtham, 15, of Varathampalayam in Sathyamangalam. The accident took place around 8.30pm on Thursday, when the Class X student was returning home on a scooter after meeting his friends. His two-wheeler hit a tourist bus that was ahead of him on Bannari Road, causing him to fall off the vehicle. He suffered severe injuries on the left side of his head and died on the spot. Sathyamangalam police recovered the body and sent it to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital for a postmortem. A case has been registered.
