Nagpur: Two teenagers from Nagpur drowned while swimming in the Makardhokda dam in Umred taluka of Nagpur district on Wednesday.The deceased, Praveen Narwade (18) and Pranay Randive (19), were residents of Vaibhav Nagar, Dighori. Locals, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot after getting information and launched a search operation. Narwade’s body was fished out, but Randive could not be traced till the filing of this report. The operation to search for Randive will resume on Thursday.As per preliminary information, the teenagers entered deep into the water even as there were safety nets and warning signs installed at the spot, said police, and added that the exact cause and circumstances of the drowning are being ascertained.After Narwade’s body was fished out, police conducted panchnama and initiated legal formalities. Umrer police of Nagpur Rural have registered a case of accidental death.
