Jaipur: In a classic case of shooting the messenger, the Rajasthan education department Thursday suspended two teachers at a govt school in Sikar, days after a video showed them accusing each other of enabling cheating during board exams of RBSE. A departmental inquiry was also initiated against the two teachers, Babita, lecturer for geography, and Suman, lecturer for political science. It remains unclear whether students cheated during the exam. Education department’s order mentioned that on Feb 14, a video of the two teachers from govt senior secondary school, Bhadadhar, in Sikar district went viral, in which the teachers made allegations against each other regarding aiding cheating during RBSE board exams. “Following the investigation, it was found that both lecturers committed serious negligence in discharging their duties during the board examination. This tarnished the image of RBSE and the education department,” said the order issued by director of secondary education, Sita Ram Jat. TNN
