Gurgaon: Two 25-year-old teachers were killed and another seriously injured after the scooter they were travelling on crashed into a stationary truck on the Dwarka Expressway on Saturday night. Police said the truck was parked on the expressway without reflectors.The deceased were identified as Lakshay Gahlot, a resident of Karola village in Farrukhnagar, and Nidhi Tiwari of Uttam Nagar. Their colleague, Ankita Upadhyay, a resident of Kotla Vihar, is undergoing treatment at a hospital.The three, who teach at a private school in Uttam Nagar, had come to Gurgaon for some personal work and were returning to Delhi when the accident took place around 9 pm. Their scooter rammed into the stationary truck, police said. Bystanders rushed them to a hospital, where Lakshay and Nidhi died during treatment on Sunday morning.Police have registered a case against the truck driver at Rajendra Park police station. “A notice has been sent to the owner of the vehicle, and further action will be taken after the investigation,” a police officer said.In another accident, a 25-year-old man died after his motorcycle was hit by a car on the service road near Hyatt Regency in Sector 83 in the Kherki Daula area around 1.15 am Sunday.The deceased, Abhishek, a resident of Nuh, was returning home after a night shift at a company in Manesar when a Hyundai Alcazar allegedly being driven rashly and at high speed hit his motorcycle.Police said Abhishek was taken to General Hospital in Sector 10 and later referred to Arvy Hospital in Sector 90, where he died during treatment. An FIR was registered at Kherki Daula police station under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS. The car driver, whose identity was not known, has been booked and efforts are on to trace him.
