Kanpur: Two members of the same family died by suicide within a few hours in Harauli Bahadurpur under Bhareh police station area of Etawah.On Sunday night, a married woman, Tara (28), hanged herself to death, and on Monday evening her brother-in-law, Ankit Gautam (21), also hanged himself from a babool tree in the fields.Station house officer Jagdish Bhati said that the woman was reportedly suffering from depression as she had no children.Pinku Dohre, a labourer, stated that on Sunday night around 10 pm, he went out for a walk after dinner with his wife. When he returned he found the room locked. On looking through the window he found his wife Tara’s body hanging from a noose.Tara was married about six years ago. Her two children died in hospital after hich she became increasingly withdrawn and distressed.On the next day, Ankit went to the fields and hanged himself from a babool tree with a rope. He was the fifth among seven brothers and also worked as a labourer.Police said that on being informed they reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The bodies were sent for post-mortem.
