Mangaluru: Venur police have registered a case against two minors in connection with the sexual assault of a minor girl in 2023. The incident, which allegedly occurred near a dam, came to light recently, after the girl’s parents asked her about suspected abuse.According to the complaint filed on Tuesday, the girl had been taken to a building near a dam by two boys—one of whom is a relative of the complainant—where they allegedly committed the assault and issued her death threats.Following the disclosure, the parents approached the authorities. Venur police booked the two minors under Sections 376, 376AB, 376DB, and 506, read with Section 34 of the IPC, as well as Section 6 of the Pocso Act.Police said that an investigation into the matter is currently under way.
