Yavatmal: Lightning strike claimed the lives of two persons and left another person seriously injured in Umari village of Kalamb taluka in Yavatmal district on Tuesday afternoon.According to information, agricultural work was underway in a farm owned by Valmik Bhoyar in Umari when the weather suddenly changed. Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning began in afternoon. During this time, a lightning bolt struck the workers in the field. The deceased have been identified as Bhimrao Katkar (55) and Nikhil Bhoyar (32), who died on the spot.Sahil Katkar sustained serious injuries in the incident. With the help of locals, he was shifted to GMCH Yavatmal, where he is currently undergoing treatment. The sudden deaths have cast a pall of gloom in the village.
