Hyderabad: Two people died at the spot of a head-on collision between a car and an autorickshaw on the Medak–Narsapur highway near Pothamsettipalli in Medak district on Wednesday night.The deceased were identified as Yousuf, 70, and Krishnaiah, 52. Yousuf was driving the autorickshaw and Krishnaiah was travelling as a passenger.According to the police, the accident occurred at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday when the car collided with the autorickshaw. Police said that the car was travelling in the wrong direction. The driver of the car, D Naveen Kumar, was arrested on the charge of negligence causing death. Police stated that Naveen Kumar was travelling with his family at the time of the accident. The bodies of the deceased were handed over on Thursday following post-mortem examinations. Officials said that they are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident.
