Kanpur: Rawatpur police on Tuesday arrested two alleged drug traffickers and recovered 5.477 kg of ganja during a checking drive near Mama Talab in Maswanpur.The accused were identified as Rajbhan Singh alias Shiva (26) and Pankaj Kumar (27).According to police, the duo allegedly became nervous on spotting the police team during the checking drive. A subsequent search of their vehicles led to the recovery of 5.477 kg of ganja from their possession.Police said the seized contraband was confiscated and both accused were arrested on the spot.A case has been registered against them under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.Police added that efforts are underway to trace the source of the contraband and identify other members of the network allegedly linked to the accused.
