Baramulla, Aug 28: Security forces recovered two hand grenades from a man during a naka checking operation at Wussan Bangil in the Kunzer area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, officials said.
The checking was carried out by a joint team comprising personnel from Police Station Kunzer, SOG Kunzer, CRPF 176 Battalion and the Army’s 2 Rashtriya Rifles.
During the checking of vehicles and pedestrians, a man allegedly attempted to flee after noticing the security personnel. He was apprehended at the spot and identified as Shakir Nabi Lone, a resident of Hardu Aboora, Kunzer.
Two hand grenades were recovered from his possession during a personal search, officials said.
Following the recovery, FIR No. 115/2026 was registered at Police Station Kunzer under relevant provisions of law.
Further investigation is underway.
