Surat: Two FIRs have been registered against Lalgate resident Shakib Jariwala for allegedly extorting money from property buyers.In the first case, filed with Rander police, 63-year-old Fatemabibi alleged that she purchased a flat in Zainab Residency from Jariwala for Rs 22 lakh. After full payment, Jariwala reportedly demanded an additional Rs 1 lakh to transfer the property in her name, threatening her multiple times to comply.In the second case, registered with Lalgate police, scrap dealer Mohammad Jamil Khan (66) alleged that after buying a property from Jariwala for Rs 3.5 lakh, he was threatened and asked to pay an extra Rs 50,000 to complete the transfer.Jariwala has been booked under charges of extortion and criminal intimidation in both cases.
