Bhubaneswar: City police arrested two men on Friday for allegedly posing as IAS and police officers. Shree Lingaraj police arrested Rabinarayan Das (40) from Hooghly district in West Bengal on charges of posing as an IAS officer and duping a Bhubaneswar-based man of Rs 20 lakh with the promise of securing him a post in Odisha Mining Corporation. “Das even handed over a forged appointment letter to the victim. A case was registered against him on April 11,” a police officer said.In a separate operation, Kharavel Nagar police arrested Rajanikanta Mohanty (52) for allegedly masquerading as an additional superintendent of police (ASP). Mohanty was booked on May 12 after he vandalised a man’s SUV and threatened him, claiming to be an ASP attached to the DGP’s office.
