Pune: Vishrantwadi police on Thursday registered a case against two men who appeared as dummy candidates for a written exam for the post of a cook in an army establishment. A duty officer lodged a complaint with the police after the duo were caught at the exam centre.One of the duo is from Jind in Haryana, while the other is from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. “The investigations revealed that the accused from Uttar Pradesh appeared as a dummy for one more candidate on March 10,” a police officer said. “They were charged under sections 318 (cheating) and 319 (cheating by personation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),” the officer said.
