Mysuru: Zilla panchayat CEO S Ukesh Kumar on Friday launched a two-day awareness and door-to-door verification drive to help citizens file objections, correct errors, remove duplicate entries and prevent deletion from the voters’ list.The drive, scheduled across the district on Sept 19 and 20, was taken up as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters’ list under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. Ukesh Kumar launched the drive atop Chamundi Hills and released its posters. He asked people to correct errors in the voters’ list during the two-day drive. Mysuru tahsildar Mahesh Kumar asked voters to visit their polling booths, verify the voters’ list and correct errors.Booth-level officers have been directed to remain at polling booths throughout the day. They will help voters verify their names and details in the draft roll and submit necessary forms. BLOs will make available forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8 for new voter registration, registration of overseas Indian voters, objections and deletion, and correction or shifting of entries.Taluk panchayat executive officer C Krishna said new voters can also register their names during the drive. BLOs will be present at their polling booths on both days, he said. ZP CEO Bheemappa K Lali, CDPO Venkatappa, among others, were present.
