Prayagraj: Two high school students drowned in Ganga at Soham ashram ghat under the limits of Jhunsi police station on Sunday afternoon, police said.The deceased — Rudra Pratap (15) and Arpan Vishwas (15) — were residents of Awas Vikas colony.Station officer (Jhunsi) Mahesh Mishra told TOI that three students arrived at Soham ashram ghat after attending their coaching classes. Two of them — Rudra Pratap and Arpan Vishwas — jumped into the water while their friend Sumit Yadav stayed on the banks.While bathing, they slipped into deep waters and started drowning. Sumit raised an alarm but by the time help arrived they had drowned.Upon being alerted, a police team along with swimmers rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies.Police said as their coaching was over 20 minutes before the scheduled time, they decided to go for a swim.
