LOGO: WOMEN UNDER ATTACKAhmedabad: Two separate cases of sexual assault on two 15-year-old girls were reported in the city on Friday. One case was reported from Odhav and another in Bapunagar.In Odhav, a minor girl who returned home from the hostel during a break was sexually assaulted allegedly by her stepfather, who attempted to rape her. According to the complaint filed with Odhav police on Thursday, the minor girl emerged from her house in tears and informed her grandmother that her stepfather tried to rape her.Police said that the girl’s mother chose to keep her two daughters in a hostel after she remarried. They were allowed to return home during holidays. While the 15-year-old was at home, the accused attempted to rape her, having previously sexually assaulted her, police said. The girl did not speak earlier due to threats issued by the accused, but on this occasion, she lodged a police complaint, said an official of Odhav police.In the second incident reported in the Bapunagar area, the victim’s mother filed a complaint under the Pocso Act at Shaherkotda police station against their neighbour, accusing him of abduction and rape of her 15-year-old daughter multiple times. The complainant resides with her husband and three daughters.On returning home on Thursday, the complainant and her husband found their eldest daughter missing. Based on information provided by their other daughter, the family went to the house of the accused. There they found their daughter in a traumatised state.The minor girl later revealed that the accused coerced her into a relationship a year earlier and kept in touch via Instagram. He allegedly threatened to make her photographs viral and allegedly raped her on four occasions. Upon finding out about the details, the complainant contacted the police and filed a comprehensive complaint. The police said that the minor underwent a medical examination, and they were investigating the case.
