Hyderabad: Two drivers of a private travels bus were killed while their co-worker was injured when a speeding lorry crashed into a stationary truck on NH-65 at Narketpally in the early hours of Tuesday.According to Narketpally police, a Mojo Travels bus driven by P Srinivas, 30, left Hyderabad for Kakinada late on Monday night. Around 1:50 am, the bus reached the outskirts of Narketpally, where another bus of the same travels company was found parked on the roadside after it had a minor collision with a truck. Srinivas and his assistant driver, Ch Bangarayya, 41, disembarked to speak with the drivers involved in the mishap and were standing between the damaged bus and the truck involved in the collision. Suddenly, another truck going from Hyderabad towards Vijayawada crashed into the rear of the first truck at high speed, pinning Srinivas and Bangarayya between the truck and the bus. Both died on the spot. Their co-worker, Suresh, also suffered injuries and was admitted to hospital. A case was registered against the driver of the second truck. “The accused fled from the spot, abandoning the truck laden with iron bars. We’re searching for him,” Narketpally SI P Vishnu Murthy said.
