Coimbatore: The women’s wing of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Friday submitted a petition to the Coimbatore city police commissioner and the Coimbatore district superintendent of police seeking action against V Ponraj for his alleged derogatory remarks against women. In the petition, TVK functionaries alleged that Ponraj had made derogatory remarks against women in a recent interview with a YouTube channel, hurting the sentiments of women across the state.TVK district secretary (south) K Vignesh said that people like Ponraj, who support the DMK, repeatedly make derogatory remarks against women with an intent to damage TVK’s support among women, and urged the police to arrest Ponraj immediately.
