Coimbatore: Advocates attached to TVK’s legal wing took to the city streets on Tuesday to celebrate the party’s victory in the 2026 assembly election. They gathered in front of the district court to mark the party’s debut triumph, ending the long-standing dominance of traditional Dravidian parties. Lawyers distributed sweets to the public, fellow advocates and court staff to share their joy over the electoral outcome. Pro-TVK slogans echoed the court premises, as supporters hailed party president Vijay’s transition from cinema to what they described as that of a visionary leader. Representatives of the legal wing said the victory marked a paradigm shift in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape. One participating lawyer said the public mandate for TVK reflected a desire for change and a move away from the binary politics that governed the state for decades. “This isn’t just a win for a party; it’s a win for a new vision of service,” said another member of TVK legal wing. “We are here to ensure the rule of law and the promises made to the people are upheld in this new administration.”
