Krishnagiri: Tension prevailed near Pochampally in the district on Wednesday after a TVK flag was found hoisted on a DMK flagpole in Satinayakkanpatty village.The flagpole was installed by former panchayat president and DMK member Venila Murugesan on the boundary of her agricultural land. She said DMK flag was removed from the pole in view of the assembly election. According to the villagers, an unidentified person hoisted TVK flag on the DMK flag in the early hours of Wednesday. When local DMK members noticed it in the morning, more than 100 party workers gathered in the area. When alerted, the Parur police visited the spot and held talks with DMK members. Party workers told police that TVK flag should not be removed until the person responsible for hoisting it was identified and arrested. With the situation turning tense, more than 20 police personnel have been deployed in the village to ensure law and order.
