Chennai: School Education Minister A Rajmohan on Friday strongly criticised a series published by the DMK’s mouthpiece targeting CPM State Secretary P Shanmugam, calling it unacceptable. He noted that the veteran communist leader has spent decades fighting for the rights and welfare of the working class, making the opposition party’s malicious campaign against him deeply uncalled for.Rajmohan told the reporters in Chennai that if the late DMK leader M Karunanidhi were alive today, he would have disapproved of the campaign. Murasoli carried a two-part series, slamming Shanmugam for extending support to Vijay’s TVK to form the govt. In a strongly rebuttal, CPM mouthpiece Theekathir equating the principal opposition party in TN assembly to BJP and AIADMK. It further said that there is no difference between them.Meanwhile, TVK MLA VNS Mustafa questioned why VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan has failed to challenge DMK members for ridiculing TVK leader and Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay both inside and outside the Assembly. Mustafa’s remarks came in response to Thirumavalavan’s recent criticism of Vijay’s assembly speech and hand gestures. The VCK leader slammed Vijay for his parable, ridiculing the former cm and DMK chief M K Stalin’s electoral defeat during his reply to the motion of thanks to Governor’s speech.
