Bhubaneswar: City police on Tuesday arrested a 38-year-old tutor for raping a 17‑year‑old Plus‑III student at his coaching centre in July 2025.“We registered a case against the teacher after receiving a complaint from the survivor on May 16 this year,” an officer of Mahila police station said.The minor survivor said she delayed the lodging of the FIR due to trauma and compelling circumstances.According to her complaint, the tutor abused her after other students had left the coaching centre. He allegedly recorded the act and forced her to continue the relationship by threatening to circulate the photos on social media if she resisted. Sources said the accused and the girl married in a temple and lived together for some time.
