Kolkata: Birbhum stone baron Tulu Mondal alias Mohammad Nazibuddin approached Calcutta High Court on Wednesday, seeking protection against coercive action. This comes as cops raided residences of Tulu’s in-laws.Tulu has been on the run since police uncovered Rs 28 crore in cash and 15 kg of gold from the house of Tulu’s brother-in-law Minar Mondal.While police have sealed Tulu’s Suri residence, STF on Wednesday made fresh raids at the house of Tulu’s father-in-law Noor Alam, as well as those of his two brothers-in-law, Sheikh Mithu and Sheikh Mintu in Parui. The search went on for nearly two-and-a-half hours.According to police sources, Tulu’s brothers-in-law own around 30 to 40 dumper trucks. Investigators are probing whether they had any business relations or financial transactions linked to Tulu.Several bags were recovered in the search, said sources.
