Noida: Two women died and two men were injured in separate road accidents in Gautam Budh Nagar.Police arrested a driver — in the first incident — after a college student died when a truck collided with the motorcycle she was riding on near LG roundabout in Greater Noida on Thursday.Police said the accident took place around 2am. Chandan Barnwal and Chandni Kumari Gupta were returning after appearing for an MBA second-semester examination. Chandni, a student of GL Bajaj Institute, was riding pillion. Chandni, daughter of late Raju Prasad Gupta, died on the spot due to severe injuries, while Chandan suffered injuries and was admitted to Kailash Hospital for treatment.Police said the motorcycle was hit by the truck bearing registration number HR55AT5670. Officials said the driver — Upendra Prasad Yadav, a resident of Nawada district in Bihar — has been taken into custody.In another incident, which took place in the Sector 127 underpass area in Noida, a woman died after a car allegedly rammed a motorcycle from behind. The accident took place on May 19, but an FIR was registered on Thursday following a complaint by the injured biker.According to police, Vishal, a resident of Bheemathikri village in Amroha who currently lives in Sector 44, was travelling with his maternal aunt Reena on a motorcycle towards Sector 128 when the accident occurred. The complainant alleged that the car driver was driving rashly and at high speed.Both Vishal and Reena fell on the road and sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Reena dead. Vishal’s condition is stated to be out of danger.A senior officer at Sector 126 police station said a case has been registered against the unidentified car driver at Sector 126 police station. Police teams are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused vehicle and driver.
