Teacher aspirants stage a protest over their demands related to TRE-4 at Gardanibagh in Patna on Tuesday

Patna: BPSC on Tuesday issued the notification for TRE-4, announcing recruitment to 32,388 teaching posts in Bihar. An additional 886 posts are being added in various subjects and languages, including Magahi, Maithili and fine arts, along with 76 posts in agriculture. Online applications will open on Sept 1 and continue until Sept 30. The examination date has not been announced.Education minister Mithilesh Tiwari welcomed the recruitment drive and described it as a major opportunity for aspiring teachers. “The door to the future is open for the youth. Come as the makers of the future; the Education Department is ready to welcome you.” He urged candidates to apply within the deadline and prepare with hard work and confidence.Earlier in the day, teacher aspirants began their indefinite ‘Chatra Nyay Satyagrah’ at Gardanibagh in Patna. Although the notification has been issued, protesters said their agitation would continue until their other demands were addressed. They want TRE-4 conducted in a single sitting, without separate PT and mains, arguing that any change in the recruitment pattern should be implemented from TRE-5 as TRE-4 has already been delayed. They have also demanded a domicile policy.Khushboo Kumari, who came from Nawada, said, “We are forced to protest for the TRE-4 notification. If PT and mains are to be conducted, why were B.Ed., STET and CTET conducted? There should be only one exam. The education minister lies repeatedly. If he cannot issue the notification, he should resign.”Student activist Dilip Kumar said the govt had earlier promised notification by July 25 and amendments within 24 hours, but the assurances were not fulfilled. He warned that teacher aspirants would intensify the agitation if their demands were not addressed.“We are staging a sit-in protest to protect the interests of thousands of students in Bihar. We want this exam conducted in one sitting. If the government does not address our demands, we will intensify the agitation,” Dilip said.Protesters also raised concerns over recruitment and alleged paper leaks in the 66th, 67th and 70th BPSC examinations.
