The booking pages show that once the West End leg completes on September 5, further shows are unavailable, per The Independent. Based on Irvine Welsh’s novel, the musical revolving around drug addicts premiered in July 2026. Performer and resident director Keiran Brown announced on Facebook, “The UK tour has sadly been cancelled – just not selling unfortunately for us. If Edinburgh of all places is stuck on 19 per cent sales – you know you’re f***ed...!” “The forthcoming UK tour of Trainspotting The Musical, which was due to begin on 19 October, has been cancelled,” he continued, before adding, “We are very grateful to our cast, crew and creative team for their dedication to the production, but the current economic climate has resulted in lower than expected ticket sales.” Current ticket holders will be refunded after being contacted by their point of purchase. The tour was supposed to be in cities, including Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Manchester.
