Jaipur: City’s traffic police have revised signal timings at 51 intersections to ease congestion, officials said Sunday.“After an elaborate study of the signal time and traffic pressure at intersections and roundabouts on main roads of the city, we optimised the signal timings. The timings were synchronised considering the volume of traffic during peak and lean hours of the day,” stated an official.These 51 intersections include Rambagh Circle, Narayan Singh Circle, Trimurti Circle, Moti Dungri Ganesh Mandir Circle, JDA Circle, Rajasthan University Gate Crossing, Ramniwas Bagh Circle, Station Mod, Galta Gate Circle, Haldighati Gate Crossing, KV 3 Tiraha, Apex Circle, Model Town, Akshaya Patra Circle, NRI Circle, Sanganeri Gate, Yadgar, and Ajmeri Gate.Signals at important crossings such as Gurudwara Mod (TP Nagar), Chinkara Crossing, Panipech, govt Hostel, govt Press, 200 Feet Bypass Crossing, Jharkhand Mod, and Niwaru Road have also been optimised.“We are hopeful that this synchronisation will ensure smooth traffic flow on city roads, especially during peak hours,” another official added.
