Patna: With hundreds of party workers and supporters expected to arrive in the city for BJP national president Nitin Nabin’s programme on Monday, the Patna traffic police on Sunday rolled out a comprehensive traffic management plan. Several key roads will see restrictions, diversions and no-parking zones.According to the plan, vehicles approaching from the south side of the District Transport Office (DTO) would proceed via Tamtam Padav and Phuwarisharif. Those coming from the north side of the DTO will move via Jagdeo Path. Parking has been strictly prohibited from Patel Golambar to the airport.
“Workers and supporters heading to the airport to receive the BJP president must utilise the outer parking area of the airport. Air passengers have been asked to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight time between 11 am and 8 pm due to anticipated congestion,” the official traffic plan issued on Sunday said.It further said: “Vehicles coming from Saguna More or Danapur and going towards East Hartali More should avoid the regular road. South-bound movement on Bailey Road has been rerouted via Jagdeo Path, DTO, Tamtam Padav and Phuwarisharif. North-bound traffic should take Ashiana-Digha Road, Digha, Kurji, Rajapur Pul and Ashok Rajpath. Parking has been banned on Jagdeo Path during the programme.”West-bound vehicles from Kankarbagh or Patna Junction will be diverted via GPO ROB, R-Block ROB, Gardanibagh ROB and Anisabad Golambar. Traffic from Kargil Chowk heading to Rajapur Pul on West Ashok Rajpath has been advised to use JP Ganga Path. Drivers proceeding from Exhibition Road to north Gandhi Maidan will head east from Ramgulam Chowk, while those approaching Gandhi Maidan from Rajapur Pul will continue east via JP Ganga Path.The traffic police have asked participants, including party workers and the general public, to enter through gate number 10 and park small vehicles in an organised manner inside Gandhi Maidan. Large vehicles and buses will be accommodated in a single-lane arrangement on JP Ganga Path in front of the commissioner’s office. Vehicles of MPs, MLAs and other VIPs will enter via parking gate numbers 1 and 4 and follow designated parking protocols.
