New Delhi: Traffic movement in parts of North Delhi will remain affected for over two weeks due to sewer line work on Rajpur Road in the Civil Lines area. Delhi Jal Board is laying a 300 mm diameter sewer pipeline until March 25 according to an advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police. Excavation and construction activity have led to restrictions on Rajpur Road, Mall Road, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Chauburja Marg, Bhiku Ram Jain Marg, Shamnath Marg, and Lok Niwas Marg. Rajpur Road from Rajpur Authority Cut to MCD Chowk will remain closed for vehicular movement. Vehicles from PS Civil Lines red light or Rajpur Authority Cut will be diverted to avoid congestion. Traffic police said vehicles heading towards Tis Hazari will be diverted at PS Civil Lines red light and Rajpur Authority Cut. Meanwhile, traffic moving from MCD Chowk towards Civil Lines will be allowed only on one operational carriageway up to the PS Civil Lines red light. Motorists travelling through the Civil Lines area were advised to follow designated diversion routes. One suggested route from PS Civil Lines red light is via Upper Authority Cut, then left on Under Hill Road, followed by a right turn onto Shamnath Marg before proceeding towards Raj Niwas Road and MCD Chowk. Another diversion allows commuters to move via Under Hill Road, Shamnath Marg and Boulevard Road, with a U-turn under Yudhister Setu before joining Rani Jhansi Road. Authorities urged commuters to avoid roadside parking and cooperate with personnel deployed at key junctions. For updates, residents can check the traffic police website or their official social media handles.
