Patna: The administration has announced temporary traffic diversions in parts of Patna to facilitate sewerage and flyover maintenance work ahead of the monsoon.Under the Digha-Kankarbagh Sewerage Project, Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (Buidco) has begun urgent construction work in the Patliputra area to address long-term waterlogging and sanitation issues.Traffic restrictions in Patliputra Circle will remain in force from May 18 to May 30. During this period, general vehicles will not be allowed through the BIADA Gate near Rajiv Nagar Underpass. Commuters have been advised to use the alternative route via BIADA Road towards Atal Path.Movement of general vehicles on the service lane of Atal Path from A N College to Rajiv Nagar Underpass will also remain prohibited. BUIDCO managing director Animesh Kumar Parashar directed officials to complete the work quickly while minimising inconvenience to the public. He urged commuters to follow alternative routes and traffic police instructions.Separately, Patna traffic police have imposed night-time traffic restrictions on the GPO Patna-R Block Golamber flyover route for maintenance work.The south lane of the flyover over a 660-metre stretch will remain affected till May 27. “Every night, vehicle movement on this stretch will be completely prohibited from 12 midnight till 5 am. Commuters are requested to avoid using this route during the restricted hours and opt for alternative roads to prevent inconvenience,” Patna traffic police said on Sunday.
