Bengaluru: Motorists travelling through Kengeri and adjoining areas Saturday should brace for traffic congestion and diversions as the inauguration of Major Arterial Road and Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations are expected to draw 50,000 people.Kengeri traffic police said restrictions will be in force from 6am to 4pm for the programme, to be inaugurated by chief minister DK Shivakumar.Goods transport vehicles will be prohibited between Marigold School Junction and Bheemanakuppe Jn, and will be diverted via Mysuru Main Road, Challaghatta Metro Station and NICE Road.Similarly, goods vehicles will not be allowed between Kommaghatta Jn (Kengeri Club) and Hosabyrohalli village peripheral road. They will be diverted through Vishweshwaraiah Layout Ring Road, Ullalu, KLE College and Magadi Road.Police cautioned commuters about slow-moving traffic on key stretches, including Mysuru Road, NICE Road Challaghatta Main Road and the road connecting Rainbow Bridge in Kengeri Satellite Town to Kommaghatta.
