Ranchi: The traffic department on Monday said that the vehicular movement would be controlled in several parts of the city in view of the processions which would be taken out during Ram Navami on Thursday and idol immersion of Chaiti Goddess Durga on Saturday.Traffic wing said that entry of heavy vehicles would be prohibited in the city from 4 pm on Thursday to 6 am on Friday and from 8 am to midnight on Saturday. The goods carrying vehicles would move towards their destination through the ring roads, it said. The movement of small goods carrying vehicles would also be barred in the city from 5 pm to midnight on Thursday.The notice stated that on Thursday, movement of autos, totos, municipal corporation buses and general vehicles would be forbidden from 4 pm to 6 am on the roads coming from Kishori Yadav Chowk, Mahabir Mandir Chowk, Subhas Chowk and Saheed Chowk towards Upper Bazaar.It stated that on Friday vehicles would not be allowed to move from 1 pm till the end of Ram Navami processions on the road from Kishori Yadav Chowk, Saheed Chowk and Subhas Chowk towards Upper Bazaar.The movement of vehicles would also be barred from SSP office to Saheed Chowk, Zakir Hussian Park to Radium Chowk, old corporation building to commissioner’s Chowk, Chadri talaab to Albert Ekka Chowk, Plaza Chowk to Albert Ekka Chowk, Purulia road to Sarajana Chowk, Karbala Chowk to Ratan PP, PP Compound to Sujata Chowk, Rajendra Chowk to overbridge and from Piska More to Ratu road.Traffic SP Rakesh Singh said, “While the schedule of new traffic plans has been provided, the movement of vehicles would be regulated in view of the processions and the gathering of crowd during the coming festivals. The entire strength of district traffic police along with additional deployment would be used.”
