Kanpur: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ravindra Kumar conducted a special inspection at Jarib Chowki crossing on Saturday to ensure effective implementation of a smooth traffic management plan.During the inspection, clear demarcation using ropes was carried out at the busy intersection to streamline vehicular movement and ensure that traffic remained within designated lanes.Shops around the crossing were also demarcated, and shopkeepers were sensitised about avoiding encroachment in front of their establishments, refraining from placing goods on roads and ensuring proper parking of customers’ vehicles.Police appealed to traders to cooperate in maintaining smooth traffic flow and preventing congestion at the intersection.Route marshals were deployed at the crossing, while identified choke points will be analysed and corrective measures taken to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce commuters’ travel time.The initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow, minimise jams and save time for daily commuters. DCP Ravindra Kumar directed officials to keep the designated routes clear and obstruction-free at all times.Additional DCP (Traffic) Kapil Dev Singh and Traffic Inspector (Central Zone) Mobin Khan were also present during the inspection.
